As a youth I became interested in mental health therapy, due to my insatiable curiosity about human culture. I had felt a social discomfort by having to contain the vital emotional ingredients that make me human.
I now understand that it is our most limited, fallible, raw, vulnerable humanness that assists us in evolving into our best selves. I feel that living in an environment where genuineness is a primary value, is essential to our health.
I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Washington State University, and a Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University, Seattle. I am licensed and continue to be progressive with continuing education, both out of personal interest and to to stay abreast in the field.
I've spent over a decade working in the human services profession. A snapshot of my accrued experience is as follows:
- inpatient psychiatric treatment
- community mental health services
It is an honor to hear others' stories, and to facilitate their growth.
